NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is this Friday, September 30th, also known as Orange Shirt Day.

It is a day to honour and remember residential school survivors and their families, as well as children that did not survive the residential school system. Orange Shirt Day also serves to create awareness about the history and ongoing legacies of the residential school system in Canada.

In the spirit of marking this important date, we will be providing resources to help us learn more about Truth and Reconciliation, while also amplifying some of the Indigenous voices within our community over on the Irish in BC social platforms.
