      Which is better - brown soda bread or white soda b Which is better - brown soda bread or white soda bread with currants? Think your mother or granny's recipe is the best?? Want to showcase your gluten-free or vegan version? 
In celebration of Irish Heritage Month, the Irish Women's Network will be hosting the 3rd annual Irish Soda Bread Bake-Off at the monthly coffee morning on Friday, March 6th, 10am at the Consulate General of Ireland, Vancouver.
You do not have to bake to attend - all are welcome to join and be a taster, but you must register to attend. If you are a baker and want to enter your soda bread, go to the events link in our bio and follow the instructions.

      Join the Consulate General of Ireland, Vancouver t Join the Consulate General of Ireland, Vancouver this March for a special Business Breakfast celebrating Irish Heritage Month.
This engaging morning event will feature guest speakers Maitiú Costello, Senior Manager, Facilities Operations & Administration, and Martin McDermott, Manager, Equipment Operations at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Maitiú and Martin will share insights into their career journeys, their connection to Ireland, and their professional experiences here in Vancouver.

      Irish Away From Home is a new social group created Irish Away From Home is a new social group created to meet new people, build friendships and share experiences while living away from Ireland.
Everyone understands how challenging it can be to start again, being away from family, familiar faces and the sense of home, while trying to settle somewhere new.
This group is all about making that journey easier and more enjoyable. They will be organising a wide range of social events, from coffee meet-ups and walks to hikes, pool nights and more.

      The annual Salish Sea Feis is back this February a The annual Salish Sea Feis is back this February after a hiatus in 2025, and they’re delighted to welcome everyone back to Vancouver Island!
This vibrant Irish dancing competition takes place at the @marywinspearcentre and is open to the public, free of charge. Come along and experience the energy and tradition of Irish dance, including soft shoe, hard shoe, jigs, reels, sets and much more. 
The day also features an Irish soda bread competition, Celtic art competition, a tea room, live music and plenty of talented Irish dancers.
When: Saturday, Feb 7th, 9am

      The Éire Óg Saturday Run & Dip is back for 2026! The Éire Óg Saturday Run & Dip is back for 2026! 
For the months of January and February they will meet every Saturday morning for a run/walk followed by an optional cold dip and some coffee to warm up again after.
Come along if you're hoping to join @eireogvancouver for the upcoming season, or if you just want to get out for some fresh air and meet new people. All paces and fitness levels welcome! 
Where: Kitsilano Beach, then alternating weekly at English Bay.

      The next Irish Community Coffee Morning, hosted by The next Irish Community Coffee Morning, hosted by the @irishwomennetbc , will be on Friday, Jan 30th, from 10am-12pm at the Consulate, to mark St. Brigid's Day on February 1st.
In honour of St. Brigid’s Day, community members (men and women) are invited to share a 3-5 minute story about an inspirational Irish woman. This could be a reading, family story or a historical/current figure.

Every year, the @irishwomennetbc coordinates a special brunch on the Sunday closest to January 6th to celebrate Nollaig na mBan, or Women’s Christmas. 
This weekend, fifty Irish women of all ages came together at the Wolf & Hound Pub for a joyful gathering.
