LAST PUSH FOR OCTOBER BLOOD DRIVE
THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to the October blood drive! 112 of you have donated and another 19 appointments are booked, bringing us to 131 of our 150 goal. Just 19 more to go!
There is always a need for blood donations: for surgeries and emergencies, cancer treatments, premature babies, blood disorders and diseases and burn victims. You can also save lives by donating plasma and stem cells.
A huge thank you to community members Alan Cosgrave and Helen Murphy for sharing their personal stories about how donations have directly impacted their lives. This is why we donate.
Thank you also to our sponsors who generously contributed raffle prizes: IRL Group, Form Swim Goggles, Cusp of Change Coaching, The Rio & Park Theatres and the Irish Women’s Network of BC. Everyone who donates in October is eligible for the draw, which will take place on Friday, November 6th.
STILL WANT TO DONATE?
If you want to donate for Halloween, there is a mobile clinic on the North Shore this Saturday, October 31st, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s & St. Stephen’s Church, 2641 Chesterfield Ave.
You can also book an appointment at the main clinic at Oak Street and 31st Avenue, the downtown clinic on Dunsmuir Street or the new clinic at 2428 160 Street in Surrey. See more Vancouver and BC locations. If you live elsewhere in BC, you can find a clinic at blood.ca.
To join the Irish in BC team, sign up here, then book your appointment to save a life.
If you have any questions or comments, please email Eilis Courtney (irishinbc@gmail.com) or Alan Bradley (alanb@icccvan.com).
