What is a 50/50 draw?
All the money generated from ticket sales is pooled and a winner is chosen at random.
The winner then wins half of the pool, with the other half donated to Irish in BC to allow us to continue funding our Communications Co-ordinator who helps us connect and support Irish individuals, organizations and businesses within BC.

      In direct response to feedback received from a ser In direct response to feedback received from a series of engagement events with survivors of institutional abuse, applications are now invited from survivors and affected persons for positions on the National Centre for Research and Remembrance steering group.
There are also opportunities to join the National Museum of Ireland’s Lived Experience expert panels for the National Centre museum, so that the vision to honour all survivors equally and authentically is achieved.

• Special Advocate for Survivors Advisory Council (up to 35 positions)
Expressions of interest are invited from Survivors and Affected Persons of:
• Industrial School Institutions and Reformatory Institutions
• Magdalen Laundries
• Mother and Baby and County Home Institutions
• Boarded out arrangements
• Historic adoption practices and illegal birth registration
• Any of the above who live overseas 
Applications for these positions are open until 19 September 2025.

Are you Irish living in Canada or have you Irish heritage? Help shape Ireland’s new Diaspora Strategy by sharing your views and experiences in the Global Irish Survey.
In order to understand the issues of importance to Irish communities overseas, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade want to hear from as many members of the diaspora as possible so the new strategy meets needs and can adapt to evolving circumstances.

      The Consulate Book Club returns Thursday, August 2 The Consulate Book Club returns Thursday, August 28th to discuss Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent, winner of the 2023 Irish Book Awards Crime Fiction Book of the Year.
The novel follows reclusive Sally, who causes outrage when she tries to incinerate her father’s body. Thrust into the media spotlight, she begins recalling repressed childhood horrors and steps into the world for the first time, making new friends, big decisions, and learning that people don’t always mean what they say.
