The Consulate General of Ireland, Vancouver is proud to support AGREEMENT, which features artworks from Irish artist Amanda Dunsmore’s research-intensive practice that investigates societal transformation via portraiture and runs until August 23rd in the Mitchell Art Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta.

Can’t make it to Edmonton? Join in celebrating AGREEMENT, with a livestreamed artist talk by Amanda Dunsmore on Wednesday, June 19th at 5pm PDT. This event is free to attend and no RSVP is required. Access to the livestream will be available here on June 19th.

About the Exhibition:
Following the signing of the Belfast ‘Good Friday’ Agreement on April 10, 1998, Amanda Dunsmore began a dedicated practice spanning two decades, filming video portraits of each of the fourteen signatories. Each video work will be screened. Using time-based media, Dunsmore’s work punctuates how there is no shortcut to fully grasping the complex social ruptures left in the wake of colonialism, and how time, relationships, and sustained attention are key ingredients in building trust and understanding in service of positive change.
