The Panelists

Mariat Jibril

Mariat advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion. This advocacy means using the lens of intersectionality for a just and equitable society while amplifying the voices, listening and serving the need of diverse segments. (Black, Indigenous , People of colour, the 2SLGBTQ community, Youths, Women and Non-Binary and Persons with disabilities)

She was nominated finalist by CGLCC as 2022 LGBT Business advocate for the year.

Mariat is a key influencer in the community with a passion in creating success for business owners, and the community at large. Mariat has been recognized for successful projects by the Minister of Small Business (Mary Ng) and the then Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion of Canada (Patty Hadju) now Minister of Indigenous services.

Mariat holds an Executive MBA from Athabasca University. Mariat’s ethnic background is Nigerian. She is an International Banker with a combine 23 years in the Banking Industry between England, Ireland and Canada. She is a mother of 3 grown up children. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering, horse riding, traveling and a dedicated café hopper.

She is a respected and sought after Lived Experience Consultant and currently the Regional Manager, 2SLGBTQ+ Business Development for Pacific and The Yukon for TD Bank

Taehee Kim

Taehee Kim is an experienced professional in finance industry. She started at TD as a part time customer experience associate (teller) just over 15 years ago while attending University British Columbia. Over the years, she progressed through different roles in the retail branch where she gained experience in client relationship management, financial advice, employee relationship and management and retail banking operations. Before moving to a Regional Manager for TD Protection Plan with TD Insurance, working with Mobile Mortgage Specialists she managed Highgate branch for about 4 years.

Taehee is passionate about helping people build confidence and capabilities and improving financial literacy. She holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and minor in Commerce and also has Human Resources Management certificate.

Outside of work, Taehee is actively involved in the community, an example is she spent over 5 years as a director for a Korean Community organization called “C3 Society” and often participates in mentorship programs like UBC Executive Mentorship Program.

Jack Lee

Started working with TD since 2012 as a CSR and then transitioned into the role of Financial Planner in 2015. I am currently working at TD Wealth as a Financial Planner, working with two fantastic branches at the Highgate Branch, and the Market Crossing branch. As a Financial Planner, I thrive in delivering unique financial plans and investment advice to each and every one of our affluent clients to help them achieve their goals!
