Seachtain na Gaeilge 2026

Seachtain na Gaeilge runs for over two weeks, from March 1st – 17th.

Did you know that according to the 2021 Canadian census, the number of Gaelic speakers is on the rise across British Columbia? Or that over 5% of Gaelic speakers in BC are 3rd generation Canadian? See our Numbers of Irish page for further statistics.

If you want to join the rising numbers, there are a number of upcoming events and community groups where you can meet new people and brush up on your cúpla focal!

An bhfuil tú lonnaithe i Vancouver agus Victoria? Tá roinnt imeachtaí agus grúpaí pobail ag teacht aníos áit ar féidir leat bualadh le daoine nua agus do chúpla focal a scuabadh suas!

Ciorcal Comhrá Vancouver meet up bi-weekly on Mondays at either the Consulate General of Ireland, Downtown Vancouver or at Trees Coffee on Joyce Street.
Buaileann Ciorcal Comhrá Vancouver le chéile gach dhá sheachtain ag Ard-Chonsalacht na hÉireann, Vancouver nó ag Trees Coffee ar Shráid Joyce.

The next event is on March 9th, 7:30pm at Trees Coffee. For inquiries, please contact Scott at oser@phas.ubc.ca
